“Embracing the threat: machine translation as a solution” SUMAT presented to graduate students

The SUMAT team attended the University of Nottingham today, to give students a demonstration of our SUMAT solution in action, and to discuss the preliminary results of our end–user evaluations.

Members of the consortium joined professional translators, fansubbers, broadcasters, and researchers, amongst others, at the Centre for Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies to discuss Subtitling: A Collective Approach. The centre was established in 2011 to bring together a number of areas of expertise in translation-related research with the aim of strengthening these activities within the University, and the SUMAT project is pleased to have been given the opportunity to support the department.
